Sport – Football: Liverpool Football Club

Liverpool Football Club has a rich and storied history that spans over a century. The club was founded in 1892, initially as a rival to Everton Football Club, which had been playing at Anfield Stadium. Liverpool FC was formed after a dispute between the stadium owner, John Houlding, and the Everton board of directors. Liverpool Football Club was officially recognized by the Football Association in 1893,  The first games were played in the Second Division.
